Redefine Possible! You don’t have to do it alone.
I’ve previously written about how community can drive skill development and economic prosperity from a tech ecosystem perspective (read that here). That piece was more holistic. But today, I want to speak to you — the individual — about how community can be the breakthrough you didn’t know you needed.
🧹 The Broom Analogy (Calm down — not APC’s own 😅)
This has no political undertone, I promise. It’s just an analogy I’ve always loved.
Take one broomstick and try to sweep — it won’t work. But when the broomsticks are bound together, they perform the task with grace. That’s the power of community: collective strength enabling individual impact.
📌 How Community Helped Me Get Unstuck
While building ScribbleShow, what you see today as an MVP isn’t exactly how I initially imagined it. (Wait till you hear the full vision 😅). I had to simplify and focus on delivering immediate value — so I could build with users, not just for them.
But I hit a creative block.
During the ideation and wire framing phase, I got stuck on some screen designs I just couldn’t figure out. Then, one seemingly random but powerful moment changed everything.
Mrs. Uche had invited me to support the ladies at the Women Techmakers Event. While there, I ran into Mr. Peremobowei, one of the best UX designers in our community. We exchanged pleasantries, and I casually shared the challenge I was facing. Without hesitation, he pulled out a pen and paper, and right there at the hub, we sketched our way through the problem.
What emerged was the perfect solution. A design block that had been haunting me was resolved in under an hour — all thanks to a moment of opportunity meeting preparation.
🤝 Relationships That Drive Progress
I met Mr. Peremobowei through the GDG Asaba community, and over the years, he’s become not just a friend, but a solid contributor to both personal and collective growth in the ecosystem.
That one moment saved me weeks of design delay. Without his input, I honestly wouldn’t have made the kind of progress I did.
💬 So, what do you do when you’re stuck?
Ask for help.
Reach out to your community.
You don’t need to do it alone.
Whether you’re building a product, learning a new skill, or navigating a tough decision — there’s someone in your community who’s either been there or is willing to help.
🚀 Redefine What’s Possible — Together
This is how we 10X our growth, faster than we ever imagined.
Let’s normalize reaching out, collaborating, and building in public.
You don’t have to do it alone.
🎮 Try ScribbleShow — A 2-Player Drawing Game
ScribbleShow is a 2-player hybrid game (online and offline) that stimulates your brain through sketching. It’s fun, casual, and built to spark your creativity while giving your brain a light workout.
👉 Sign up here — give it about 4 minutes (sometimes less)to receive your access email (automation sometimes moves mad).
When you do get the email, please reply with something encouraging. It keeps me motivated and also helps with email deliverability.
Most importantly — if you love the game, build it with me. Tell me what would make it more fun or engaging for you. Every idea helps.
